Bally Total Fitness Tennis Facilities Updates from USTA Pacific Northwest

1/10/11 – The USTA Pacific Northwest has continued our recent efforts to communicate with LA Fitness regarding the closure of the Bally Tennis facilities in Olympia, Tacoma, and Federal Way, Washington. Unfortunately, LA Fitness is currently not responding to our communication efforts. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide future updates if new developments occur.

12/20/11 -- The USTA Pacific Northwest met recently with the Bally’s Tennis teaching professionals and local tennis advocates to discuss possible viable options regarding the facilities closure.  We will continue to communicate with those local contacts as well as LA Fitness to determine if there are any possible solutions to the current situation.

12/5/11 -- The USTA Pacific Northwest is continuing to work towards potential solutions but local tennis players are also speaking up to help save the Bally Total Fitness tennis facilities in Tacoma, Olympia and Federal Way.

12/1/11 -- The USTA Pacific Northwest is aware of the recent sale and impending closure of the Bally Total Fitness and indoor tennis facilities in Olympia, Tacoma and Federal Way, Washington.
The situation has our organization’s full attention as we recognize the importance of the Bally’s indoor tennis courts to their local communities as well as to our USTA members and the tennis professionals employed there.
The USTA Pacific Northwest is currently investigating all viable options that could result in keeping those courts open.
