Important information for 2010 Early-Start Rating Appeals
Early-start ratings will ONLY be published on the USTA Pacific Northwest web site (www.pnw.usta.com). Please do not look for early-start ratings or appeal information through TennisLink (http://tennislink.usta.com/leagues/) as only year-end ratings are published there. You cannot appeal through “Find A Rating” for an early-start rating.
NOTE: If your name does not appear on the Early-Start Rating list, then your rating has not changed and may be found in Find A Rating in TennisLink.
The early-start ratings are shown in .5 increments and are published in July for the sole purpose of establishing a rating for those players who plan to play during the 2010 USTA League season which may begin play as early as August 2009.
The early-start ratings are shown in .5 increments and are published in July for the sole purpose of establishing a rating for those players who plan to play during the 2010 USTA League season which may begin play as early as August 2009.
The ratings apply ONLY to those individuals who are playing in Senior-Super Senior and Mixed-Sr Mixed Doubles League and DO NOT apply to those players participating in Adult League which begins in 2010.
A player who participates in USTA Senior or Mixed League in the fall of 2009 for the 2010 season will hold that particular rating throughout the entire season providing he/she has not reached the three strikes status.
It is important to note that this is not your final rating for the 2009 USTA League season. We will be publishing the year-end ratings for all players in November.

Granting an appeal is based ONLY on the criteria below:
1. Early-Start Ratings
Dynamic Rating = an NTRP calculation that is assigned to a player when a match is played in the Adult or Senior leagues. All players involved in the match must have a rating (or if a self-rated player, must have 3 matches against a rated player).
a. Any player who’s rating is within .05 above level or below level and files an appeal will be granted an automatic appeal.
b. Any self-rated player (0.0 start rate) who’s rating is within .10 above or below level with three or fewer dynamic ratings and files an appeal will be granted an automatic appeal.
c. Any player who has reached age 60 years of age prior to and during the league year and whose rating is within .10 above level and files an appeal will be granted an automatic appeal.
d. Any player registering for any 2009 USTA League will enter their previous Year-End rating - not the 2010 Early-Start Ratings.
2. A player may submit a Medical appeal at any time. Please click here to access the USTA League Medical Appeal form. Also note that a medical appeal must be accompanied by an attending physician statement. Please click here to access the USTA League Attending Physicians form. When completing these forms, please follow the instructions carefully and completely.
3. Players who have moved to another section prior to or during the publication of ratings may appeal their rating to either section within the protest period allowed by the section.
