USTA/PNW Organizational Member: Submit your vote for Board of Directors

The USTA Pacific Northwest Nominating Committee recently completed its work for the 2010-2011 nominating process.

If you are an USTA Organizational Member, you are hereby advised that the Nominating Committee of the USTA Pacific Northwest Section present the following slate for 2010-2011 term board positions:

Area Vice Presidents*  
Eastern Washington:  Mary Wichman, Harrison, Idaho
Northwest Washington: Norwood “Bill” Brooks Jr., Seattle, Washington
Northern Oregon: Jeff Yarne, Portland, Oregon
Alaska: Allen Clendaniel, Anchorage, Alaska

As an Organizational Member, you are entitled to cast an advisory vote for or against the nominee for Area Vice President nominated for the geographical area within which you are located.

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR VOTE FOR YOUR AREA NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27.

All registered Organizational Members were mailed official ballots during the week of November 16. If you have not received the ballot and would like to request one be sent to you, please contact Kelli Wasson at (503) 520-1877 ext.10.

You may fax your vote to the USTA Pacific Northwest office at (503) 520-9310.

*USTA PACIFIC NORTHWEST AREA VICE PRESIDENT BIOGRAPHIES

Mary Wichman
Area Vice President, Eastern Washington
Mary currently serves on the Board of Directors and assists in many other capacities with the Coeur d’Alene Tennis Association.  She played college tennis for both the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and the Madison Area Technical College.  She has taught and coached tennis at many different levels including summer camps, clubs, high school and college tennis.  In 2004, she coached a USTA/PNW Boys’ and Girls’ 14s Zonal Team and was voted Outstanding Club Pro at TennisFest in Spokane. Most recently, Mary helped to launch a new QuickStart Tennis program in partnership with the Ironwood Athletic Club in Coeur d’Alene.

Norwood “Bill” Brooks Jr.
Area Vice President, Northwest Washington
Bill resides in the Seattle area where he is a member of the Emerald City Tennis Association.  He was a #1 ranked player for both Bellevue Community College and Eastern Washington University where he earned a degree in Business Management.  He is an active USTA League player and has played on several teams that have qualified for national championships.  He worked at the Seattle Tennis Center where he was the Tournament Director for the first Amy Yee tournament.  He has also served on the Seattle Tennis Center Advisory board.  He has an extensive business background and currently serves as a Strategic Advisor for Seattle City Light.

Jeff Yarne
Area Vice President, Northern Oregon
Jeff has experience in various areas of business including Business Development, Partnership Development, and Program and Project Management.  He is currently a Senior Marketing Professional in the Portland area.  He volunteers with non-profit organizations where he teaches Internet marketing classes and assists with donor management.  He currently serves on the Multnomah Athletic Club Ethnic Diversity Committee and is an active USTA League tennis player.

Allen Clendaniel
Area Vice President, Alaska
Allen has played and taught tennis in the Pacific Northwest and is the current Secretary of the Alaska Tennis Association. He has served as an instructor in the Anchorage Sports and Recreation Department and also played high school tennis and one year of college tennis while attending Whitman College. He graduated from Stanford Law School in 2004 and is employed as a trial attorney in Anchorage. On the court, Allen served as captain of his USTA League team that competed in the Section Championships in 2008.
