2009 USTA Pacific Northwest NTRP Tournament Standing and Ranking Requirements
The USTA Pacific Northwest (USTA/PNW) has adopted the Points Per Round Ranking system in order to conform to the rankings system used at the USTA National level.
NTRP TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS MUST FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES AS OUTLINED IN FRIEND AT COURT.

I. Ranking Period
A. The Ranking period for all players shall be January 1 through December 31, 2009.
II. Ranking Requirements and Standings
A. Computer rated players must play on their year-end rating only.
B. Self-rated players who may be playing below their level may be denied participation in a tournament. Self-rated players who are denied participation may appeal to the NTRP Review Committee. Contact Sheila Banks by email at sheilab@ pnw.usta.com.
C. In order to obtain a year-end ranking, a player must have received a minimum of 50 points.
D. Events that are straight NTRP levels (2.5-5.0) as well as Combined rating events will be considered for Standing and Ranking Points. Combined Ratings may not exceed one point between partners. Age group NTRP levels will not be considered for Standing or Ranking points.
E. Doubles Team participants will earn individual points dependant on where the doubles team finished.
F. Only persons enrolled with the USTA as an Adult member, Junior member, Family member, Life member or Honorary member and in good standing at the close of the ranking year shall be considered for a ranking. All Participants must be current USTA members at the time of entry into the Sanctioned Tournament.
G. Reside within the USTA/PNW boundaries for at least seven months of the ranking year.
H. To be considered a sanctioned event, there must be at least three players in singles or three teams in doubles in order to play a round robin.
I. Approved methods of scoring as outlined in the ITF rules of Tennis will be considered for ranking purposes.
J. In determining the points per round ranking of any division, only results from that division will be considered.
K. A tournament will count toward minimum qualifying requirements if a player or team starts a match.
L. Only tournaments with draw sheets submitted to and recorded by TDM will be accepted as a tournament held.
M. Twelve-month running STANDINGS will commence January 1, 2009 and reflect the players’ point status on a twelve month basis only.
N. Final Year-end RANKINGS will be based on highest point total accumulated from January 1 – December 31, 2009.
III. Scheduling Matches (Recommended at discretion of Tournament Director)
25 through 60: Player should not be required to play more than three matches in one day in the same division (including consolation and doubles). No more than two matches should be singles.
65 through 80 ages: Player should not be required to play more than two matches in one day in the same NTRP division (including consolation and doubles).
85 and 90 ages: Player should not be required to play more than two matches in one day in the same division. No more than one match should be singles.
In order to be eligible for a USTA Pacific Northwest NTRP ranking in singles and/or doubles, a player must play in the minimum number of tournaments in the NTRP division in which the player seeks to obtain a ranking. The year-end ranking will be based on the best of 5 results.

The standings and rankings for NTRP Single elimination, Consolation and Round Robin tournaments will be based on a point system outlined below. In order to be eligible for standing points only, a player must have a minimum of 50 points.
