Are you interested in coaching tennis? Or maybe you're already a coach and want to learn the newest and most effective methods of coaching? Either way, we have you covered. The USTA offers
recreational on-court training in the form of two unique types of trainings: Recreational Coach Workshops and Recreational QuickStart Tennis Workshops. These specialized trainings are for parents, volunteers, recreational instructors, professionals and USTA Jr. Team Tennis coaches. By attending a USTA Recreational Coach or QuickStart Tennis Workshop, YOU can get the tools you need for success!
A Recreational Coach Workshop (RCW) is an interactive, on-court training program designed for tennis teachers and coaches working with players who are new to the game and/or at the earlier levels of skill development. Each workshop is conducted by a certified tennis professional specially trained to effectively handle large groups and get kids and adults playing tennis quickly in a fun and social atmosphere. Most RCWs cover the basics of the QuickStart Tennis format.
QuickStart Tennis Workshops are very similar to RCWs but focus more on instruction that utilizes the QuickStart Tennis format. The QuickStart Tennis format makes managing and engaging groups of children easier. It is an exciting new play format for learning tennis, designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size. The QuickStart Tennis format is also simple to integrate into existing lesson and play programs.
Host a Recreational Coach or QuickStart Tennis Workshop
Hosting a Recreational Coach or QuickStart Tennis Workshop is an excellent way to give back to your tennis community and introduce aspiring coaches to the wonderful world of tennis instruction. Current coaches also benefit from these workshops which feature advanced and innovative instruction from accredited trainers.
